Job Description

Title: On-Site Production Manager

FLSA Classification: Exempt

Department: Supply Chain

Reports to: Supply Chain Manager

Salary: $80,000-100,000 + bonus

Date: 8/2024

Job Summary: The On-Site Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production for Beatbox, at the FLOW facility in Toronto, Canada. This role ensures efficient and effective manufacturing processes, warehousing and inventory oversight, operational production planning, procurement vendor relations, compliance with quality standards, and adherence to safety and regulatory requirements. This role will interact with all levels of leadership in the FLOW organization.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but is subject to change.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Production Planning and Coordination:
    • Develop and implement detailed production schedules in collaboration with co-man, supply chain, and planning teams to meet volume requirements and delivery timelines.
    • Ensure the availability of raw materials and packaging supplies, coordinating closely with procurement and inventory management teams.
  • Operations Management:
    • Continuously review and manage operations at the co-man facility to ensure the smooth running of the production lines, optimizing efficiency and minimizing downtime.
    • Monitor production performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:
    • Ensure that all products meet Tetra Pak's and Beatbox's quality standards and specifications.
    • Implement and maintain quality control procedures, collaborating with quality assurance teams to address any issues promptly.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, including Canadian food and beverage manufacturing standards.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and lower production costs.
    • Utilize lean manufacturing techniques and other best practices to streamline operations.
  • Cost Management:
    • Monitor production costs and work to optimize budgetary efficiency without compromising quality or safety.
    • Develop and manage the production budget, tracking expenses and identifying areas for cost reduction.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Prepare and present regular reports on production performance, including efficiency, quality, and safety metrics.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of production processes, procedures, and compliance records.

    Education/Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
    • At least 5-7 years of experience in production management, preferably in a beverage or food manufacturing environment.
    • Strong knowledge of Tetra Pak systems and processes.
    • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
    • Proficiency in production management software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
    • Knowledge of Canadian regulatory requirements for food and beverage manufacturing.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    Physical Requirements:
    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

    Additional Information: This role will require travel to other manufacturing facilities, company, and industry events. This role may also require travel, both domestic and internationally.
